The Cervinus Teatrum of the city of Szarvas was founden in January, 2000. In the beginning, going by the name of Weöres Sándor Regional Theatre, it was a conventional, production-based theatre, but since 2004 it is also the theatre of the Slovak minority living in Hungary, with a continuously changing repertoire. Its main goal is becoming a focal point of its own region’s cultural life, to become a public place of culture, and to “directly react to everyday life’s problems with feeling, and with every tool art has to offer.”

The Book about the Cemetery is the stage version of Samko Tale’s book that has already been translated into sixteen different languages. The Komárom-born writer (original name: Daniela Kapitánova) while being a very prolific artist, also regularly publishes theoretical writings and teaches at the University of Nyitra. Right now she is researching the theory of detective novel writing, and is writing different series of detective novel parodies.

The date of the performance: 2008. November 22. (Saturday) 19:00
Venue: Bakelit Multi Art Cente
(Budapest, IX. Soroksári út 164.)
