There is a fraternity war in Thebes between the two sons of Oedipus: Eteocles and Polyneices are each convinced that he is to rule in the much suffered city.  Both young men are all determination, all unwavering certitude: they want power, they want to rule and they want the best for Thebes.

In turn, the two daughters of Oedipus—Antigone and Ismene— try to find their way and try to conform to some sort of order or law in this world ruled by men in a city battered by wars for power.  But Creon, the new ruler, introduces  a new law  which is impossible to keep, and he creates an order in which people cannot live.

Balázs Szálinger, one of the most talented poets of the new generation, rewrote the mytholocical story to have the two thousand and five hundred-year-old tragedy played out in front of our own eyes through the words of our own era.
