The play Funeral by Péter Nádas premiered at the Budapest Autumn Festival as the second part of Krisztián Gergye’s in-depth Trilogy-study.  The two performances are strictly joint together but not conditioning each other.
In Funeral the Actor and the Actress are interpreted by two dancers, Krisztián Gergye and Melinda Virág, and it starts out from the author’s instruction written to his play Encounter according to which three musicians must accompany the performance which can be accomplished only if the acting and the musical constructions are able to meet.  The present  stage direction applies this concept to Funeral but it changes the relations.  In the sounding milieu of the original text of the play being read out by the three pairs of actors of Encounter the performance becomes a unique experiment: it examines the relations, the boundaries, the crossovers and team-work between what is traditionally considered as non-choreographed, „open” dance and prose theatre  as means of expression in performance art and thus, it also  inquires into the nature of the theatre.
